The Washington National Opera Presents “Holiday Family Opera: The Lion, The Unicorn, and Me” From December 14 – 16
How many times have you read the holiday classic The Lion, The Unicorn, and Me already this year? Whether this award-winning book is a favorite at your house or not, see it come to life at the Washington National Opera.
The story is set at the time of the first Christmas, and is told from a very unlikely viewpoint. Will the brave lion or magical unicorn lead Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, or will it be the small donkey that has nothing to offer but his sturdy back? The Lion, The Unicorn, and Me is a delightful tale for young and old alike, and reminds us all of the spirit of the season. And because the story is brought to life as an opera, it’s a wonderful way to introduce young music lovers to another form of the arts. The show runs Friday, December 14 through Sunday, December 16 only. There is an evening performance on Friday, and matinee and evening performances on the weekend. The Saturday matinee performance is sensory friendly, and tickets are on sale now at the Kennedy Center website.
