The By the People Festival does things differently, all in the name of art. For one thing, it takes place across a variety of local venues and “hubs,” including one that moves around the city. This floating hub will meander down the Anacostia River, starting in Georgetown, making a pit stop at the Navy Yard, and ending in Anacostia.

Check out the unique performances and pop-up art exhibits aboard the floating hub, or stop at the Smithsonian Arts + Industries Building, Union Market, or CityCenterDC, the other hubs for the event. You also won’t want to miss the art-themed dinner at the National Mall on June 21st or the late-night hours at Smithsonian museums in honor of the Summer Solstice on June 22nd.
