Meet Some Friends From The Residences at Eastern Market at National Gallery of Art’s Ice-Skating Rink

Seeking a place to enjoy the outdoors this winter near your Washington DC apartment? Pay a visit to the  National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice-Skating Rink! Now open for the season, the rink hosts public skate times as well as ice-skating lessons. Pavilion Café offers a break from skating with its panoramic view of the sculpture garden and a variety of good eats and small treats with their seasonal menu, such as freshly made soups, salads, and sandwiches. These pair nicely with winter beverages, such as hot cocoa or cider, a pumpkin spiced latte, or mulled wine.

The rink is open through March 15th. Hours vary according to the day of the week, and the rink could be closed depending on weather conditions. When the Art Sculpture exhibit is closed in the evening, the ice rink entrances are restricted to Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive near 9th street.  The skating fee covers two 45 minute sessions beginning at the hour. Adults and children over 13 are $9, while seniors (50+), children under 12, military, and students are $8. Skate rental fee is $4, with lockers available for $0.50 (a $5 deposit required).
