Since Dr. Seuss released “The Grinch” in the 1950s, it’s been a staple of the holiday season. This year, the classic tale comes to life at ICE! Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort. More than 40 ice sculptors from China have been working around the clock to create the colorful life-sized pieces that make up the display, which open now, not far from your apartment near Market Park DC.

Their hand-carved creations depict the major scenes from this beloved holiday tale, from the moment the Grinch and Max go zooming toward Whoville on their sleigh, ready to steal holiday cheer, to the Whos singing in a circle—the scene that prompts the Grinch’s heart to grow! You can walk through the interactive collection of ice sculptures, bundled up in provided hats and jackets, and relive your childhood at the special holiday display. Tickets start at $33 for adults and $25 for kids.
