If you’re looking for your next special occasion spot near The Residences at Eastern Market, try Emilie’s, a new American-Vietnamese fusion spot that opened in October in Capitol Hill. 

The menu is designed to be a shared experience between family and friends, with a mix of seasonal small and shared plates to choose from as well as a fun cart that comes around with jams, spreads, and pickled delicacies that you can enjoy with the breads on the menu – don’t pass this option up!  The chef is a native of Louisiana. The chef’s home state inspires a number of dishes, like the ranch-fried chicken with Texas toast, hot sauce, and B&B pickles—one of Emilie’s most popular dishes for sure! You can also taste the chef’s Vietnamese heritage in plates like the pork blade steak with banh hoi, nuoc cham, and peanut sauce or champon noodles with miso butter, black pepper, and celery.
