May Marks the Start of This Year’s Jazz in the Garden
Summer is nearly here, and you’re likely looking to fill your social calendar with fun, cultural events all over DC. Jazz in the Garden is just that type of event, and according to the more than 1,735,000 people who have attended since the event’s first show, it’s more than worth a visit.
Jazz in the Garden takes place in the Sculpture Garden at the the National Gallery of Art, and it features talented musicians performing their takes on jazz during a Friday evening concert. Guests can enjoy delicious meals from the on-site restaurant while they take in the sounds of swing, funk, hip-hop, Latin, go-go, ska, Dixieland, blues and other jazz styles, as well as admire the stunning sculptures throughout the garden.

June 22 – Hendrik Meurkens Quartet (jazz harmonica and vibraphone)
June 29 – Josh Bayer Jazz (swing/bop)
July 6 – Black Masala (ethno-funk)
July 13 – The Funky Dawgz Brass Band (funk and hip-hop)
July 20 – Dave Chappell (blues guitar)
July 27 – Incendio (instrumental world guitar)
August 3 – Son Del Caribe (pan-Caribbean salsa)
August 10 – Andrea Brachfeld (jazz flutist)
August 17 – 3Divas (swing piano trio)
August 24 – Speakers of the House (funk and boogaloo)
