“Anastasia” at JFK Center for Performing Arts, Now Through November 25
From now through November 26, the historic JFK Center for Performing Arts is home to the new musical Anastasia. Produced by the creators of the Tony Award-winning smash hit Ragtime, this family-friendly story (inspired by the much-loved animated film) is slated for nightly shows and weekend matinees during its Washington debut.
The story follows innocent young Anastasia, princess of the crumbling Russian empire, as she flees her family’s homeland and moves into the legendary cafe scene of Paris in the 1920s. The show’s music is from Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and the show itself is directed by Broadway veteran Darko Tresnjak. Tickets start at $59 and run up to $179, and regulars at the JFK Center for Performing Arts say there’s not a bad seat in the house. Tickets are selling fast (some shows are already sold out) so be sure to head over to the website to book your tickets.
