The American Ballet Theatre Presents “Harlequinade” at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from January 29th to February 3rd
The American Ballet Theatre presents the classic Harlequinade at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from January 29th to February 3rd. Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky offers a star-studded retelling of Marius Petipa’s 19th-century comic ballet set to original music by Riccardo Drigo. In this two-act ballet, the story follows the witty and wild Harlequin, in love with Columbine, the daughter of Cassandre. Audiences will be dazzled by the stage design as well as the number of costumes (more than 250!) and vibrant palette of colors.
Come enjoy this classic comedy ballet and charming tribute two hundred years after Petipa’s birth and more than 100 years since he created Harlequinade. Tickets are on sale now and range in price from $39 to $150. The ballet runs approximately one hour and 45 minutes with one 20-minute intermission.
