See DC From the Water With Tidal Basin Paddle Boats
You’ve probably admired the beauty of the Tidal Basin the last time you visited The Thomas Jefferson Memorial, but now you can do the reverse and see the surrounding sites directly from the water. Take a Tidal Basin Paddle Boat out this summer to leisurely glide along one of DC’s most picturesque waterways, and take in the sites for plenty of Instagram-worthy shots along the way. There are 2-person or 4-person boats available, or the popular motorized swan boats for a lot less work and a little more relaxing.
Boats are rented hourly, or you can take one for the day to picnic in West Potomac Park and do even more exploring on land at other nearby memorials before paddling back. All boats are available on a first come, first served basis, so head out early if you have your heart set on a swan boat. Visit the website for helpful tips on how to get to or park at the Tidal Basin, or to fill out your floater plan agreement ahead of time.
