The National Book Festival Arrives in DC on Aug. 31
If you have some free time on August 31st, here’s a fun way to fill it: check out the 2019 National Book Festival. It’s being held right here in town at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and it’s totally free to attend.
The festival promises the opportunity to meet some of the country’s most famous figures (all authors, too)—from José Andrés to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The main part of the festival consists of conversations with these literary greats and well-known public figures, but you can also explore special exhibits in the Library of Congress area. It’s here that you’ll have a chance to learn more about the different divisions of the library and the various services it offers to the public. Bring along a book-loving friend or two to check out everything that the National Book Festival has in store.
