Get in the Holiday Spirit at the U.S. Botanic Garden, Not Far From Your Luxury Apartment in DC
Season’s Greenings: America’s Gardens at the U.S. Botanic Garden opens for the holiday season on Nov. 28th! Located not far from your apartment near the DC Metro, the exhibit features two entrances. The first is the Model Train entrance, where visitors can view trains, as well as a spectacular arrangement of plant recreations of fountains, sculptures, and conservatories. This exhibit is undergoing renovations, thus there won’t be trains surrounding the main trees. In the second entrance, the Conservatory, visitors will find a stunning seasonal display of 30,000+ poinsettias, some of which have yet to appear on the market. Traverse through the Garden Court to view the two largest indoor trees decorated to suit the holiday spirit. Twenty-nine famous railroad stations, modeled from across the U.S., will be stationed in the West Gallery, such as Utah’s Salt Lake City Pacific Depot, Chattanooga Train Shed in Tennessee, and Pennsylvania’s Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad.
Season’s Greenings: America’s Gardens runs through Jan. 20. It’s open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Conservatory will be open until 8 p.m. on select days to accommodate live seasonal music – free of charge.
