Eastern Market: A Capitol Hill Institution Is at Your Front Door
If you haven’t been to Eastern Market DC, it’s about time you get to this Capitol Hill staple that helped inspire our name here at The Residences at Eastern Market! We’re just steps away from this historic market, which has been helping shape the culture and support local since the late 1800s when it was built. The market is huge, with a variety of permanent indoor vendors that supply a little bit of everything from groceries to prepared food and art. It’s a melting pot that truly showcases the culinary diversity of our city.
Since COVID-19 they’ve been even more integral to the local community, remaining open to supply the area with fresh produce, meats, and household staples. They are keeping the same hours from Tuesday through Sunday, and operate an outdoor farmers market in addition to their indoor stalls on weekends and Tuesdays. Some farmers that are noted on their homepage will actually accept pre-orders for the weekend farmers market, and some indoor stalls will take takeout orders via the phone – it’s all laid out on their homepage.
