He’s now brought the flavors of Puerto Rico to DC, and there is plenty for you to enjoy whether you order takeout, delivery, or dine outside.

This Puerto Rican restaurant has earned accolades for its authentic cuisine, so be sure to try some of the menu standouts. Don’t leave La Famosa without trying the incredibly popular tostones, a thinly fried plantain that has a bit of a crispy crunch on the exterior. The plantains are a little bit sweet on the inside, and topped with flavorful garlic and thinly sliced onions.

Be sure to leave yourself enough of an appetite to try other items on the menu. Order the pork mofongo and enjoy the mix of mashed fried plantains mixed with the tender pork, topped with garlic. Or ask for the chuleta kan-kan, a Puerto Rican style pork chop. If you have a craving for something sweet, order a quesito. It’s a tiny rolled pastry with a sweet cheese. It’s just right, like everything else on this menu.
